Spotify Features and an Eye on Users Modifying the Free App – Spotify is among the most used music streaming applications around the globe – as of June 2017 it had 140 million users. However, for an application so widely utilized, lots of its better attributes are hidden. This is a problem which Spotify has been handling for a little while, and even though its taken measures to and continues to boost its UX, it is still lacking that flow. A number of those features must do with user interaction, while some using the audio itself. I have updated some of my favorites to discuss:
Playlist Folders (for Desktop Only)
Didn’t you ever dream to set all of your Chill playlists in 1 folder? In the desktop version, you can drag and drop various playlists into the folders you’ve created. Though you can just be made in the background, it’s still possible to get into the folders in the mobile application. Can be accessed by going to File->New Playlist Folder.
Restore a Deleted Playlist
If you have pressed delete accidentally on one of your playlists, there is still hope. This playlist you had spent so long attentively curating is back on your power. There were many a time I wished I had known this earlier – after spending hours recreating a playlist attempting to recall each and every tune that has been on it. To access go to “Spotify’s Account” (their website) -> “Account Settings” and then choose “Recover Playlists”.
Spotify enables you to listen to your songs on high quality, either on downloaded and streaming tunes. The other side it consumes more space and data in case of streaming. Still completely worth it – there is nothing worse than listening to some low-quality electrical guitar. Access by going to Settings->Music quality and chose from Normal to Extreme.
Filter or Search for Specific Songs in a Playlist
If you drag down on an artist or playlist, then you can look for certain songs, set filters or perhaps purchase tunes in various ways (Order by Song Title or Artist). When you drag down, simply enter the search box or press on the burger menu to the right to get filters.
Artist Radio of Song – Find Similar Tunes
The Radio attribute on Spotify makes playlists with similar songs or artists. The attribute currently comes automatically when everything you are listening to is completed – be it an artist or playlist or an album. This is great once you’re trying to determine what else to add to a playlist that fits a specific mood, or perhaps to find new artists that are very similar to what you are listening to at the moment. It is like the Genius choice on iTunes. To access, just have to select the “Radio” option in your application or sidebar on the desktop.
Private Listening Mode
For all those users that do not have Premium, they might need to keep eye on this since you are going to need to set this up every once in a while. In preferences, you may opt to keep your songs private – you will have the ability to listen to all of your guilty pleasures without everybody finding out. To access, go to File (in Windows)/Spotify (Mac)->Private Section.
On a weekly basis, this application curates a playlist for you that you’re interested in. Thus far, the algorithm has improved considerably and managed to discover new artists and songs that come together with my preference. To access, go to you “Discover” segment on your Spotify.
Using these, your everyday encounter with Spotify ought to be a bit better – and motivate you to keep on hunting for hidden treasure within the service.
Spotify Mod Apk or Modified Spotify Software
Only 71 million of the Spotify users are paid users out of the 159 million active users. It seems sensible that the company would like to maximize the amount of paying users, particularly in light of their company’s current movements to go public. It seems that Spotify is finding the free users using the hacked application so as to remove the restrictions on unpaid accounts.
Until today, Spotify has not put much effort into imposing any policies on the people who are pirating its services. These users download the “Spotify Mod Apk” file to avail all the premium services for free. But within the last couple of days, Spotify has sent emails to unpaid accounts using the “Spotify Mod ApK” or the modified software. TorrentFreak got a copy of this which can be replicated below.
In the mail, Spotify states, “When we discover that the repeated usage of unauthorized programs in breach of our conditions, we reserve all rights, such as suspending or terminating your account”. This makes it crystal clear that the streaming service isn’t playing around when it comes to these accounts. TorrentFreak reports that it has contacted Spotify users with free accounts which have taken advantage of this hack, some report that they did not get the email, but some have discovered their modified programs no longer function.
